'Taken' Actor Joins Revolution
First up is Leland Orser. He’s best known from the Taken franchise, and was a regular on ER and appeared as memorably panicked characters in Seven and Alien Resurrection. Orser will play a John Sanborn, a tense scientist who loves to build weapons.
Next is Patrick St. Esprit, who was the lumberyard owner/ex-mayoral candidate on Sons of Anarchy and was on The Chicago Code. He'll be on Catching Fire in 2013. He’s going to play Wayne Ramsey, a tough leader in the rebel resistance against General Monroe.

Monday Ratings Complicated due to Hurricane Sandy
On the surface, Monday night's ratings look familiar and straight-forward: "Dancing with the Stars" carried ABC to an overall win, while "The Voice" and "Revolution" led their slots to help NBC dominate among young viewers. Of course, due to Hurricane Sandy, the numbers aren't that simple.
In short, many Americans had no access to TV on Monday night and many who did have access weren't watching what the schedules called for them to be watching. So don't expect to learn much from these ratings.
"Castle" averaged 11.95 million viewers and a 2.7 rating among adults 18-49 for ABC, with that key demo rating looking particularly inflated by storm coverage. NBC's "Revolution" averaged 8.39 million viewers and won the hour with a 3.1 key demo rating. CBS' hurricane coverage averaged 7.97 million viewers and a 2.1 key demo rating.

Episode Review & Discussion: 'Sex and Drugs' 1x06
Review by SpoilerTV
Revolution episode 1.06, “Sex and Drugs” actually had very little of either. What it did have was another very finely crafted episode. Once again I was impressed by the writing of the episode and how wonderfully sewn together the various story threads were. Tonight’s episode was written by David Rambo and directed by Steve Boyum and both did a spectacular job.
The episode begins with our small band in trouble as Nora’s stab wound has become infected and she is now dangerously ill, forcing them to appeal to Drexel who turns out to be a psychopathic drug and prostitute dealer who worked for Miles when he was the General of the Militia. Unfortunately, when Miles left the Militia, Drexel was also labeled a traitor, and he turned to growing poppies for heroin and prostituting young girls. Drexel is wonderfully played by Todd Stashwick. Stashwick imbues the character with enough manic energy to keep viewers on the edge of their seats as you’re never quite sure what he will do next. One of the things Revolution has done a good job of is creating complex characters like Drexel. It’s impossible to tell if he was always a psychopath or whether he became one after the blackout due to circumstances of having to survive or being betrayed by Miles and having the Militia turn on him.
Neville arrives back at basecamp with Danny and hands him over to Sebastian. Sebastian tells Danny he is essentially his honored guest and apologizes for Ben’s death, saying Neville will be dealt with. It’s obvious Sebastian is simply trying to win Danny’s trust, and as soon as he leaves the room, Sebastian cuts off Neville’s apologies and tells him he’s promoting him to major and wants him to take over as head of Intelligence and Interrogations. Neville says that Julia will be happy to have him home more, but it seems that his homelife may not be trouble-free. Given what we know about Neville's backstory, it will be interesting to see what Julia makes of this new position. Neville's journey from the meek insurance salesman before the blackout his current role in the Militia has to have affected Julia's perception of him and their relationship, so I'm curious to see how that will play out. Aaron's story in this episode is also an interesting reflection of Neville's as Aaron moves from passive victim to active participant. Neville apparently embraced the violence, possibly through necessity, while Aaron is clearly still struggling against it. Neville’s relationship with Jason seems to be strained at the very least. He criticizes Jason’s report in front of Sebastian but Sebastian is able to learn from Jason about the pendant that Aaron has. When Sebastian tells Neville to send Strausser after the pendant, Jason is obviously worried about Charlie, and Neville is annoyed with him.

Revolution's Rating Improves
Revolutions‘s powerful lead-in The Voice (12.8 million, 4.6) was perfectly steady with last week’s rating, so that didn’t boost it. Both of Revolution‘s 10 p.m. rivals — CBS’ Hawaii Five-0 (8.4 million, 2.0), up 5 percent, and ABC’s Castle (10.9 million, 2.0), down 9 percent — aired original episodes, so there wasn’t softer competition last night. In fact, you could say there was more competition since Fox (which normally doesn’t program 10 p.m.) had baseball playoffs going late into primetime. So can we credit Revolution itself for this gain then? “I don’t know of any artificial reason for the increase, looks legitimate to me,” one network ratings analyst emailed.
Revolution was a big swing that many us thought would open to a sizable number, but we worried whether the J.J. Abrams-produced drama could sustain itself given the track record in recent years of other serialized high-concept sci-fi shows like The Event, Alcatraz, FlashForward and V. Revolution does, however, have one very important thing going for it: It’s better than those shows. Wondering, long shot, but … could the massive ratings enjoyed by AMC’s post-apocalyptic The Walking Dead premiere Sunday night put some viewers into the mood to check out Revolution?
Also, NBC just put out an announcement: For the first time in 10 years, the network has won the first three weeks of the broadcast season in the adult demo.

Episode Review - "Soul Train" 1x05
Review of Soul Train
Last week proved Revolution isn’t afraid of hitting us where it hurts. Killing off Maggie was shocking, and revealing Rachel’s true allegiance was less so, but it packed a punch. This week the show continues to build tension without ever going overboard.“Soul Train” starts off with what is becoming my favorite dynamic of the show: the relationship between Neville and Danny. The militia leader owes Danny a debt of gratitude after the captive saved his life, but of course he won’t recognize this. Whatever is happening here is deeper than just Neville leading the boy back to Monroe. Revolution may be about Charlie and Miles, but Danny definitely will play a major role as this series progresses. A compelling wrinkle to this aspect was Neville’s flashback. He was a complete pushover and fired the day of the blackout. He even warns his son (SPOLIER: who is Nate, the young militia boy tailing the group) while hitting a punching bag: “We only hit the bag, never people.” Guess the Blackout changed that.

Eric Kripke Reveals Important Answers
Eric Kripke talked about the first season of Revolution and revealed a lot of things about upcoming episodes. Attention, this article contains too many Spoilers!
Since NBC's "Revolution" has emerged as one of the few true hits of the new season, creator/showrunner Eric Kripke realizes the pressure is on to keep his audience hooked.
During a conference call to discuss the season so far and what's ahead in the remaining 18 episodes, Kripke revealed he has no intention of frustrating viewers by making them wait for answers. He's got a plan. Even when it comes to the show's central mystery: what caused the worldwide Blackout?
"You should look for clues everywhere," Kripke teases. "There was a phenomenon that we have up our sleeves as to what caused the blackout. What you see in that globe shot [of the blackout creeping across the Earth] is an accurate representation of what we're working on. Currently, in the writers room, we're talking dangerously about revealing that secret before the end of the first season."
That decision wouldn't be made simply to satisfy viewer curiosity, it's about what's best for the long term value of the show. "The longer you drag out an answer the more pressure there is that it's the greatest answer given in the history of man," Kripke explains. "Frankly, I'm not that smart. I'd rather answer a question and open a door to a bigger room. Even if we do answer the question of what caused the blackout it leads directly to a bigger and scarier mystery."

Episode Review: "The Plague Dogs" 1x04
Review by SpoilerTV
The twists keep coming on Revolution, and the series had its first major death this week. This episode of Revolution really felt like the show was hitting its stride. I’m starting to really want to know what’s coming and the pacing of the major story arcs is excellent. The use of flashbacks was particularly well done in this episode. “The Plague Dogs” owes that pacing to writer Anne Cofell Saunders and director Felix Alcala. There are some great parallel scenes and well chosen shots to frame them. The episode begins in medias res with Charlie being pursued and captured by a militia soldier. It’s quickly revealed that she’s only acting as bait so Nora and Miles can capture the soldier for news about Danny who, it turns out, is barely a day away at this point. We then cut to Maggie and Aaron who are waiting for the others at the rendezvous point. Maggie is worried.
We then cut to the first of a number of flashbacks which take up the theme of this episode. The flashbacks centered on mothers this week, and what mothers were willing to do for their kids. Fathers also played a part in the episode though, as families were once again front and center.

'Monday's Death May Not Be the Most Surprising Moment'
Monday's episode of Revolution will claim the show's first victim.
The latest promo for NBC's new drama dropped the news that one member of our motley crew won't make it out of the episode alive. "Obviously, it's not Charlie [Tracy Spiridakos]," executive producer David Rambo tells TVGuide.com with a laugh. And although there are some clues as to who may be taking a dirt nap, Rambo believes the death will have a significant impact. "In every single cut of this episode that we've watched, there wasn't a dry eye here," Rambo says. "It's a really emotional episode. Tracy's performance is amazing. She really moved us all."
With a death coming so early in the show's run, can viewers expect Revolution's characters to start dropping as fast as the citizens of Game of Thrones' Westeros? "As we say, no one is safe," Rambo teases. "I don't know if it's a regular thing, but it's something we're not afraid to do, because this is a brutal world and this is a world where you step on a nail and you could die." And even if your favorite survivor is the one to go, there's always the ability to revisit him or her through flashbacks, Rambo confirmed.
However, Monday's death may not be the most surprising moment in the episode. "There is a bombshell about the family and Rachel," Rambo says. "The final moments are pretty shocking."
After learning that Rachel (Elizabeth Mitchell) is a hostage of Monroe (David Lyons) and that Miles (Billy Burke) founded the militia, what other revelations remain? Rambo says Monday's episode does include some information about why Rachel left her family, but he stopped short of saying how that plays into the shocking moment.

Revolution Burning Questions: Secrets, Bombs and Marvin Gaye
Tracy Spiridakos' performance wasn't the only thing to find its groove in Revolution's latest episode. "No Quarter" was the perfect balance of action, mystery and the cheesy one-liners I've now come to love and expect form the serialized mystery. But while some secrets were revealed, eight new questions were raised. [Warning: This story contains major spoilers. Read at your own risk!]
1.Can Mark Pellegrino do no wrong? Adding Mark Pellegrino as a guest star is pretty much a guarantee that I'm going to develop an obsession with the series (See: Lost, Supernatural, Dexter). And boy — the eviler Pellegrino is the better! This time around, he might not actually be playing the Devil, but his portrayal of evil militia commander Jeremy was more than sinister enough for my tastes. What can I say? I love a bad boy!
2."Can you boil everything down to getting laid?" Short answer: yes. Though, for a moment I thought Nora (Daniella Alonso) was actually going to break stereotype and be motivated by something other than sex or love. Sadly, as quick as she was to snap on Miles (Billy Burke), Nora was just as quick to admit she had joined the rebels because of a guy. The twist? The "guy" was actually her miscarried son (talk about a Debbie Downer!). Nora then tells Charlie that if she's ever to have a kid again she wants it born in the United States. It might just be me, but wanting an American-born child seems like a pretty flimsy reason to start a political revolution. If Jack Donaghey can get over it, why can't Nora?
3.Miles Matheson, Founding Father Forget what turned Sebastian against Miles, the real question is what turned Miles against Sebastian! Apparently, the hero of the revolution founded the very militia he's fighting against. When will people ever learn not to create something they can't control? Did Jurassic Park or I, Robot teach us nothing? But in all seriousness, Miles and Sebastian's relationship (and current lack there-of) is probably one of the most intriguing aspects of the series. I hope Revolution dedicates a bit more flashback time to the former bros soon.

Elizabeth Mitchell Interviews with Spoilers
We’ll also get some clarity on Charlie’s mom, Rachel, played by Lost vet Elizabeth Mitchell, who isn’t as dead as her family thinks. "I asked [Kripke] if my character is some sort of sociopath, because I couldn’t see any other way a woman would leave her children like that — especially in a national crisis," says Mitchell. "But I keep getting told she’s a good person, really strong and a true survivor. You’ll just have to cut her some slack."
Source: TVGuide
Question: I’m glad to see Revolution doing well, but where did Elizabeth Mitchell vanish to so soon? She’s one of the main reasons I’m watching. –Jerry Ausiello: Don’t worry, she didn’t get Lost — Rachel is seen again in Episode 5 (airing Oct. 15), in which Mitchell says “we learn quite a bit” about “the ins and outs of her leaving” her family. But it’s in Episode 7, she says, that “we find out 100 percent for sure” how it is that she wound up in Monroe’s possession.
